What we list
Working software in our categories with an accurate description, an identifiable operator, and legitimate access and pricing information. Listing is free.
What we do not list
- Malware, phishing, or software that hides what it does.
- Impersonation of another product or company, and deceptive clones.
- Affiliate doorway pages, link farms, and pages that exist only to collect links.
- Content that is illegal or that we judge harmful. Regulated or high-risk categories are not listed for now.
There are no paid exceptions to these rules. Paying, displaying a badge, or being made by our operator never approves a listing.
How we write listings
Listings use facts from the product’s own website and documentation, written in our own words, and information the maker provides. We never copy another directory’s descriptions, reviews or screenshots. Products that nobody has submitted may be listed by our editors as “unclaimed”; we do not publish anyone’s contact details.
Review and changes
We aim to decide on every complete submission within 5 business days and email the decision either way. If the queue grows beyond that, we pause new submissions rather than make people wait. Substantive edits to a published listing are reviewed again, and the current version stays live until the edit is approved. Small corrections to pricing links and platforms by a verified owner publish at once.
Ownership
A verified email address gives you an account; it does not prove you own a product. Owners prove control of the product’s website with a DNS record, a file or a meta tag. An existing owner is never replaced automatically; ownership disputes are handled by hand.
Corrections and removal
If a listing about your product is wrong, or you want it removed, email hello@toptool.io from an address at the product’s domain, or claim the listing. We handle removal and correction requests within 2 business days.
