About Humata

Humata is an AI tool for asking questions across uploaded documents. It summarises findings, compares documents and answers questions with citations that link back to the source files. Team features include shared private folders, role-based and folder-level permissions, SSO with identity providers such as Okta, and encryption at rest. Humata can be embedded on a web page so customers can query documentation, and an API is offered. OCR for scanned files is available on the Team plan and above.

Teams that need to search and question a shared library of reports, papers or manuals, with permissions and cited answers.

Watch out for

Usage is metered by pages: the free plan covers 60 pages a month, and extra pages cost per page on paid plans. OCR and permission controls are only on Team and Enterprise. It does not edit or convert PDFs.

Pricing notes

As of October 2026 the pricing page lists Free ($0, 60 pages/month), Expert at $9.99/month for up to 3 users and 500 pages, Team at $49/user/month for up to 10 users and 5,000 pages, and custom Enterprise. Additional pages cost $0.02 (Expert) or $0.01 (Team) each.
