About ABBYY FineReader PDF

ABBYY FineReader PDF is a desktop application built around ABBYY's AI-based OCR, recognising 198 languages per the product page. On Windows it creates, edits and organises PDFs, creates fillable forms, supports review and approval, compares documents in different formats, protects and signs PDFs, and automates recurring conversions. The Mac version focuses on converting PDFs, paper documents and images into searchable and editable files. ABBYY also offers FineReader for iOS, Screenshot Reader and a server product for high-volume OCR.

Watch out for

The Mac version is a narrower OCR and conversion tool and has no monthly option; document comparison and Hot Folder automation are in the Corporate edition for Windows. Hot Folder automated processing is capped at 5,000 pages per month on Corporate.
