About Google Sheets
Google Sheets is Google's web-based spreadsheet application, also available on phones and tablets. Multiple people can edit at once with comments, tasks and fine-grained sharing permissions. It can open and edit Microsoft Excel files directly or convert them, works offline, and connects to apps such as Salesforce, HubSpot and QuickBooks. Connected Sheets lets users analyse BigQuery or Looker data without SQL. Gemini in Sheets helps write formulas, build pivot tables and charts, fill tables with Fill with Gemini, and create interactive mini-apps on a sheet with Sheets canvas. Anyone with a Google Account can use it.
Good for
Teams sharing live data, small businesses tracking budgets and inventory, and analysts pulling cloud data into a familiar grid.
Watch out for
Some Gemini in Sheets features, such as Sheets canvas and Fill with Gemini, require a Google Workspace plan.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 Sheets is free with a Google Account. Workspace plans (Business Starter, Standard, Plus, Enterprise) include it; from this region the pricing page listed Starter at EUR 6.80 and Standard at EUR 13.60 per user/month on an annual commitment.
