About 1Password
1Password is a password manager made by the Toronto-based company of the same name. It stores passwords, passkeys, credit cards, documents and secure notes in encrypted vaults protected by both an account password and a Secret Key, and autofills logins across devices. Personal plans include password sharing (including with people who don't use 1Password), Watchtower alerts for weak or compromised credentials, two-factor codes, Travel Mode for hiding vaults when crossing borders, and developer tools. Business products extend this into enterprise password management, secrets management, device trust, SaaS discovery and privileged access for people and AI agents.
Good for
Individuals, families and companies that want a polished cross-platform password manager with family sharing, Travel Mode and business admin controls.
Watch out for
There is no free plan, only a 14-day trial. The homepage now leads with enterprise access products, so personal plans are under the Personal pricing tab. Prices shown are for annual billing.
