About Adobe Audition
Adobe Audition is Adobe's desktop audio application for recording, editing, mixing and restoring audio, aimed largely at video, podcast and broadcast work. It offers waveform, multitrack and spectral frequency views, noise reduction and restoration tools including a Diagnostics panel, an Essential Sound panel for quick mixing, and Remix, which rearranges a song to fit a target length. It links with Adobe Premiere for audio finishing of video projects. Audition is sold as a Creative Cloud single-app subscription or as part of Creative Cloud Pro, and runs on Windows and macOS.
Good for
Video editors, podcasters and broadcast producers already in Creative Cloud who need audio cleanup and mixing that hands off to Premiere.
Watch out for
Subscription only. The free trial converts to a paid annual plan billed monthly unless cancelled. It is built for editing and post-production rather than music composition with virtual instruments.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the product page lists Audition at US$22.99/month on an annual plan billed monthly, or inside Creative Cloud Pro at US$69.99/month (with an introductory US$34.99/month for the first three months). The trial page offers a 7-day free trial plus 14 days to cancel for a full refund.
