About Jira
Jira tracks work as issues on boards, backlogs and timelines, and is widely used for agile software development with sprints, as well as by marketing, operations, IT and other teams. Plans gives cross-team planning and tracking. Atlassian's Rovo AI adds search across Jira, Confluence and connected apps and AI teammates that research, draft and take action; work can be assigned to coding agents, and an MCP server and CLI expose the Teamwork Graph to AI tools. Jira is part of Atlassian's Teamwork Collection with Confluence and Loom, and has iOS and Android apps.
Good for
Software teams running sprints and backlogs, and organisations that want one tracker across engineering and business teams alongside Confluence.
Watch out for
The Free plan is limited to 10 users, 2GB of storage and community support, and sends at most 100 notification emails a day across the site. Exceeding 10 users moves you to a Standard trial.
