About MacroFactor
MacroFactor is a subscription nutrition app that combines food logging with an algorithm that estimates energy expenditure from logged intake and weight, then adjusts calorie and macro targets at weekly check-ins. Logging tools include a verified food database, barcode scanner, custom foods and recipes, copy/paste and a timeline-style log not limited to a fixed number of meals. It shows a smoothed weight trend, micronutrient breakdowns, and includes habit and period trackers, and avoids warnings or red numbers when targets are missed. The same company makes MacroFactor Workouts, a separate training app with programs, rest timer and cardio support. Some food data comes from Open Food Facts.
Good for
People who want calorie targets that adapt to their own logged data without strict adherence rules, and who are willing to pay for an ad-free app.
Watch out for
There is no free tier: after the trial a subscription is required. Coaching adjustments depend on consistent logging of food and weight.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the Google Play listing gives US prices of $11.99/month, $47.99 per half year or $71.99/year, after a 7-day trial; prices in other countries may vary.
