About Adobe Illustrator
Illustrator is Adobe's vector drawing and design application. Artwork is built from points, paths and curves, so logos, icons, type and illustrations scale to any size. Core tools include the Pen and Shape Builder tools, pattern repeats, global edits and gradient and colour tools; newer additions include snapping helpers, Concept to Vector for turning sketches or low-resolution images into editable vectors, Turntable for viewing artwork from different angles, and generative features such as Generative Shape Fill and Generative Expand. An iPad version is included with Illustrator and Creative Cloud Pro subscriptions.
Good for
Brand, packaging and print designers who produce logos, icons and illustrations that must stay sharp at any size, and teams that exchange .ai files.
Watch out for
Subscription only after a 7-day free trial; the trial page says you can cancel within 14 days for a full refund. The individual Illustrator plan includes only 25 monthly generative credits, per the product page.
