About Pixton

Pixton, from Pixton Comics Inc., is a web platform where students build comics, graphic novels, storyboards and books by combining text with a library of customizable characters, backgrounds, outfits, expressions and poses, so no drawing is required. Teachers get ready-made lesson ideas and story starters, an Activity Maker for generating assignments with vocabulary lists and prompts, and supports such as speech-to-text and read-aloud. It is positioned as a writing tool across subjects such as English, social studies, science and math, and is sold to individual teachers, schools and districts.

Good for

Teachers and schools who want students to produce comics and storyboards for assignments without needing drawing skills.

Watch out for

The product is built for education; there is no clear plan for individual hobbyist creators on the site. School and per-teacher pricing is quote-based.

Pricing notes

The site offers a 30-day free trial. Pricing for teachers, schools and districts is provided through a quote request form rather than a public price list.
