About Capture One
Capture One is a raw photo editing and asset management application made by the Danish company of the same name. It is aimed at professional photographers in portrait, fashion, product, wedding and landscape work, and is known for tethered capture with Live View, Snap to Eye focus checking and Next Capture adjustments applied as you shoot. It supports more than 550 cameras with custom colour profiles, offers layered local adjustments, assisted subject and background masking, Match Look, skin retouching, culling, sessions and catalogues. Higher plans add Live online collaboration, cloud-shared settings, multi-user sessions and studio automation. A separate mobile app runs on iPad and iPhone.
Good for
Studio, fashion and product photographers who shoot tethered and need accurate colour and fast on-set review, and teams that share sessions with clients.
Watch out for
Plans differ a lot: mobile apps, cloud collaboration and Content Credentials sit in the All in One plan, and offline collaboration and multiple viewer screens in Studio. The perpetual Pro licence does not get the newest updates or camera support, per the pricing page.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the pricing page offers Pro, All in One and Studio subscriptions (monthly or annual), a Mobile subscription through the App Store, and a one-time Pro licence. The FAQ says one licence covers both Mac and Windows. Prices load dynamically and were not visible in the pages read.
