About Coolors
Coolors generates colour palettes by pressing the spacebar, with the option to lock colours and adjust them. Related tools include a library of user palettes searchable by colour, style or hex, a colour picker that extracts palettes from images, a WCAG contrast checker, a palette visualiser that previews colours on sample designs, Tailwind palette tools, a gradient maker, and an AI Color Bot for suggestions. Palettes can be organised into projects and exported in several formats. Besides the web app there is an iOS app, a Figma plugin, an Adobe extension and a Chrome extension. Coolors describes itself as run by an independent developer.
Good for
Designers and developers who need quick palette exploration, accessibility contrast checks and palette exports, inside the browser or from Figma and Adobe apps.
Watch out for
The free plan shows ads, limits palettes to 5 colours and saving to 10 palettes and one project. AI features run on monthly credits (3,000/month on Pro).
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the pricing page lists a free plan with no time limit and Coolors Pro, offered as a subscription and as a one-time lifetime payment shown at $99 (struck through from $149). The recurring Pro price was not visible in the page source.
