About Coursera
Coursera hosts online courses, Specializations, Professional Certificates and full degrees from 350+ universities and companies, including Google, IBM, Microsoft, Stanford and the University of Michigan. Subjects include AI, data science, business, computer science, IT, healthcare, languages and the humanities, with hands-on labs and projects in many programmes. Individual courses can be bought or subscribed to, and Coursera Plus gives one subscription to more than 10,000 courses and certificates. Some courses are free without a certificate and many let you preview the first module. Coursera also sells plans for teams, businesses, universities and governments.
Good for
Career-oriented learners who want structured programmes and certificates from known universities and employers, and people planning several courses in a year.
Watch out for
Coursera Plus excludes degrees, MasterTrack certificates and some courses and certificates. Free access is limited to some courses and previews, without a certificate. Certificates earned in the 14-day refund window are revoked if you request a refund.
