About Cursor
Cursor is an AI-first code editor and coding agent made by Anysphere. The desktop app, available for macOS, Windows and Linux, lets developers chat with and delegate work to agents that read the codebase, plan changes, edit files and run commands, with a review step before changes land. Cursor can also run in a web version, a CLI, and as cloud agents and automations that work in the background. Paid plans add AI code review (Bugbot), code hosting, and access to third-party models at API list price. Subscriptions are now sold through X Subscription Corp and bundle Grok and X (formerly Twitter) features alongside Cursor, with a shared AI usage pool across Cursor and Grok.
Good for
Developers who want AI agents doing a large share of coding work inside a familiar editor, and teams that want agents running in the cloud.
Watch out for
Plans are now bundled with Grok and X social features and sold by X Subscription Corp; the cheapest paid plan (Plus) includes Grok models only. Third-party models such as those from other labs are billed separately at API list price on all tiers.
