About Evernote
Evernote is a note-taking app, now owned by Bending Spoons, for collecting notes, documents, web clips and scans in notebooks and spaces. It adds tasks with due dates and reminders, a calendar that can link events to notes and connect Google or Microsoft calendars, templates, tags and advanced search with Boolean and filtered queries. A browser Web Clipper for Chrome, Firefox and Safari saves pages into notes. Recent versions add AI features such as an AI assistant for searching your notes through chat, semantic search, meeting transcription and AI editing, plus an MCP connection so other AI tools can read your notes. Apps run on Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and the web.
Good for
People who clip a lot of web pages, scan documents and want long-term search across a large personal archive, with tasks and calendar in the same app.
Watch out for
The Free plan is tight: per the plan comparison it allows 50 notes, 1 notebook, sync on 1 device and 1 GB storage. Starter raises this to 1,000 notes, 20 notebooks and 3 devices; unlimited use needs Advanced or higher. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play must be managed there.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the plan page did not show prices as text; figures read from the page's embedded USD price data were Starter $14.99/month or $99/year and Advanced $24.99/month or $249.99/year. The FAQ says paid-plan trials usually last 7 days, Enterprise has a 14-day trial, and students can get 40% off a year of Advanced.
