About Logseq
Logseq is an open-source knowledge management and collaboration app built around an outliner, where each note is a set of nested blocks that can be linked and referenced across pages and daily journals. It supports Markdown and Org-mode files, task management, PDF annotation, and a plugin API with community plugins and themes. The project is moving to a new database version (DB graphs, backed by SQLite) with real-time collaboration sync and a new mobile app; the README marks this version as beta and the new sync and mobile app as alpha. A web version runs at app.logseq.com and desktop builds are provided for macOS, Windows and Linux. The code is licensed under AGPL-3.0.
Good for
People who think in outlines and want a free, open-source alternative for linked notes and daily journalling that keeps data on their own device.
Watch out for
The project README warns that the new database version is in beta and that data loss is possible, recommending backups and a separate test graph. Real-time sync and the new mobile app are in alpha.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the app is free and open source (AGPL-3.0). The pages read did not list any paid plans; the README invites support through Open Collective.
