About Figma
Figma is a shared canvas for designing and prototyping apps and websites. Figma Design covers components, auto layout, variables and modes, styles and interactive prototypes with animation; Dev Mode adds inspection and an MCP server for handing designs to code. The wider product family includes FigJam whiteboards, Figma Slides, Figma Draw for vector illustration, Figma Make for prompt-to-code prototypes, Figma Sites (beta) for publishing responsive sites, and Figma Buzz and Weave for producing marketing and media assets. It runs in the browser with desktop apps for macOS and Windows and mobile apps for iOS, iPad and Android.
Good for
Product, UX and web teams that need shared design libraries, prototypes and developer handoff in one place, with designers, developers and reviewers working in the same files.
Watch out for
Pricing is per seat type (Full, Dev, Collab) and AI features run on monthly AI credits per seat, so team costs depend on how many people need full editing. Several newer products (Sites, Specs, Buzz, Motion) are labelled beta on the pricing page.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the pricing page lists a free Starter plan (unlimited drafts, 150 AI credits/day up to 500/month), Professional at $16/mo per Full seat, Organization at $55/mo per Full seat and Enterprise at $90/mo per Full seat (the latter two billed annually), with cheaper Dev and Collab seats. Viewers and commenters on paid plans need no seat.
