About ibisPaint

ibisPaint is a drawing and painting app from ibis inc. in Japan, available for iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and Mac. It covers brushes, layers, vector and shape tools, filters, adjustment layers, a manga function, animation creation and 3D materials for reference. Artwork syncs between desktop and mobile versions through cloud storage, and the site hosts a community gallery of illustrations, manga and animations. It imports BMP, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, PSD and its own IPV format, and exports JPEG, PNG, PSD and IPV. Some smart features, including AI super-resolution, use separately bought Smart Credits unless the user is a Premium member.

Good for

Artists who sketch on a phone or tablet and want to continue the same file on a computer, and manga hobbyists who want comic tools in a light app.

Watch out for

On Mac, the free demo mode is limited to one hour of use per day and 64MB of cloud storage, per the Mac version tier comparison. Many features (advanced vector tools, pro filters, CMYK export, premium materials) require Pro Upgrade or Premium.

Pricing notes

As of October 2026 the Mac download page lists a Pro Upgrade one-off payment of $62.99 and a Premium Membership of $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year, noting that prices vary by app store and country. Premium includes 20GB of cloud storage.
