About Khan Academy

Khan Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose free platform offers 840+ courses for K-12 and early college, covering math, science, English language arts, social studies, economics, computing, life skills and test prep, in 55+ languages. Students practise with exercises and videos while teachers and parents get free tools to follow progress. Khanmigo, its AI tutor and teaching assistant, guides learners to answers with questions rather than giving them directly, and gives teachers help with lesson planning, rubrics and summaries of student work. There is also Khan Academy Kids for ages 2 to 8, and a programme for school districts. It runs on the web and in iOS and Android apps.

Students from primary school to early college, homeschooling families and teachers who want free, curriculum-aligned practice.

Watch out for

The core site is free, but Khanmigo tutoring for learners and parents is a paid add-on (free for teachers). The site uses a bot check that blocks some automated readers.

Pricing notes

As of October 2026 the core platform is free. Khanmigo is free for teachers and $4/month or $44/year for learners and for families (sales tax not included); district pricing is on request.
