About Notion
Notion is a workspace app from Notion Labs for writing pages, building team wikis and organising work in databases. Pages are made of blocks, and databases can hold projects or tasks with subtasks, dependencies and custom properties, shown as tables, boards, calendars or charts. The product includes basic forms, publishing pages as simple websites, and Notion Calendar. Notion AI is built in: on paid tiers it can draft and fill databases, search across connected apps, take meeting notes, and run agents that carry out multi-step tasks. Notion offers desktop apps for macOS and Windows plus a web app, and is aimed at individuals through to large companies.
Good for
Teams that want one shared place for documents, wikis and lightweight project tracking, and individuals who like building their own systems out of pages and databases.
Watch out for
On the Free plan, uploads are capped at 5 MB per file and page history is 7 days, and pages and blocks are unlimited only for individuals; workspaces with two or more members hit a block limit. The Free and Plus plans get only a trial of Notion AI; the full agent, AI meeting notes and enterprise search start at Business.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the pricing page lists Free at $0, Plus at $10 and Business at $20 per member per month, with Enterprise on custom pricing. The page offers monthly or yearly billing and says yearly saves up to 20%; it is unclear which billing period the shown prices use. Custom Agents are free to try, then $10 per 1,000 monthly Notion credits.
