About Plausible Analytics
Plausible Analytics is a privacy-focused web analytics service that serves as a simpler alternative to Google Analytics. It uses a lightweight script, does not use cookies or process personal data, and shows traffic, sources, goals and custom events on a single dashboard. Features include Google Analytics import, saved segments, annotations, email and Slack reports, shared links, embedded dashboards and, on higher plans, custom properties and a stats API. The code is open source and can be self-hosted; the hosted service is made and hosted in the EU and funded by subscriptions.
Good for
Site owners who want simple, privacy-friendly traffic stats without a cookie banner, and teams that prefer EU hosting or self-hosting.
Watch out for
It is deliberately simpler than Google Analytics, so detailed user-level analysis and advertising integrations are not its focus. The hosted service is paid after the trial; free use means self-hosting.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the hosted plans start at $9/month (Starter, one site), $14/month (Growth, up to 3 sites) and $19/month (Business, up to 10 sites) for up to 10k monthly pageviews, with 2 months free on yearly billing. There is a 30-day free trial with no card required. The self-hosted edition is free.
