About Postman
Postman is an API development platform. Its API client sends and saves requests in collections, and the wider platform covers API specifications, mock servers, native Git integration, documentation, SDK generation, collection runs, performance, functional and data-driven testing, monitors and webhook testing. Teams share work in workspaces and the Postman API Network, and enterprises get an API catalog, governance and private networks. Newer features aim at AI agents: an Agent Mode, a Postman CLI with agent skills, an MCP server and a context graph of an organisation's APIs. Postman runs as a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux, in the web browser, and as a CLI.
Good for
Teams that design and test many APIs and want one shared, cloud-backed place for collections, documentation, mocks and monitoring.
Watch out for
Work is account- and cloud-based, and many limits (AI credits, monitoring runs, API calls) are metered per month with overage charges. Using the web version against local or private networks needs the desktop agent.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the pricing page lists Free at $0 (100 AI credits), Solo at $9/month billed annually, Team at $19 per user/month billed annually, and Enterprise by quote. Monthly billing is available; annual is said to save up to 25%.
