About Sublime Text
Sublime Text is a text and code editor from Sublime HQ in Sydney, Australia, available for Windows, macOS and Linux. Version 4 renders its interface on the GPU, supports Apple Silicon and Linux ARM64, and includes tab multi-select for split views, context-aware auto complete, Goto Definition and Goto Symbol with side-by-side views, and multiple selections for editing many places at once. Syntax highlighting has been extended with built-in TypeScript, JSX and TSX support, and the editor can be extended with packages. Sublime HQ also makes Sublime Merge, a Git client that can be bought in a bundle.
Good for
Developers and writers who want a very fast, low-overhead editor and prefer a one-time licence over a subscription.
Watch out for
It can be downloaded and evaluated for free, but the store page says a licence must be bought for continued use. A personal licence includes three years of updates, after which an upgrade is needed for newer versions.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the store shows a personal licence total of $99 USD as a one-time purchase. Business licences are annual subscriptions at $65/seat/year for the first 10 seats, falling to $50/seat/year beyond 50 seats.
