About Topaz Video
Topaz Video, formerly Topaz Video AI, is an enhancement app from Topaz Labs for Mac and Windows that runs as a standalone app or a plugin. It offers more than 20 AI models for upscaling footage to 4K and beyond, removing noise and compression artifacts, sharpening, deinterlacing, restoring archival video, stabilizing shaky shots, converting SDR to HDR, and creating new frames for smooth slow motion or frame-rate changes. Local rendering is unlimited; cloud credits cover heavier models such as Starlight. Topaz also sells a web version, a bundle with its photo apps, and an API.
Good for
Editors, archivists and AI-video creators who need to clean up and upscale existing footage, including old home video or low-resolution generated clips, on their own hardware.
Watch out for
Per the product page, standard licenses allow commercial use only for organizations under $1M annual revenue, and a license runs on one computer at a time. Monthly cloud credits expire and do not roll over. Local rendering performance depends on your GPU; check the system requirements.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the product page lists Topaz Video at $59/month with 25 monthly cloud credits, Topaz for Web - Video at $29/month (shown discounted to $19), and the Topaz Studio bundle at $69/month or $399/year, with limited-time introductory discounts. Refunds are offered within 2 days of purchase.
