About Udemy
Udemy, from Udemy, Inc., is an online course marketplace where independent instructors publish video courses on technology, business, creative skills and personal development. Learners buy courses one at a time with lifetime access, or subscribe to the Personal Plan for a curated, goal-based learning path; Career Accelerators bundle content for specific roles, and AI Role Play lets learners practise scenarios such as conflict resolution. The apps support offline downloads, Chromecast, notes and bookmarks, quizzes and Q&A with instructors. Udemy Business and Udemy Government are separate offerings for organisations. It is available on the web and on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.
Good for
Learning a specific practical skill (a framework, a tool, an exam) from a single course you keep, often at a low price.
Watch out for
Courses are made by independent instructors, so quality and currency vary by course. Subscription terms for the Personal Plan are in the Terms of Use, not the listing.
Pricing notes
As of October 2026 the US App Store lists individual courses as in-app purchases from $9.99 to $19.99 by price tier. Personal Plan pricing was not shown, and the website blocked automated reads.
