About Raycast
Raycast is a keyboard launcher that bundles productivity tools behind one hotkey: app launching, file search, clipboard history, snippets, quicklinks, a natural-language calculator, window management, calendar, emoji picker and notes. A store of community extensions connects tools such as Linear, Jira, Slack, Notion, Spotify, 1Password and GitHub. Raycast AI (paid plans) adds chat, Quick AI and an agent that can act through extensions. Teams can share snippets, quicklinks and private extensions. The free individual plan covers all built-in and public extensions, including for work use. Raycast runs on macOS and on Windows 10 (21H2+) and 11, with an iOS app.
Good for
Keyboard-focused users and developers who want one launcher for apps, clipboard, windows and their work tools, free for personal and organisational use.
Watch out for
AI features are only in paid plans and are metered with monthly credits that expire. There is no Pro plan without AI, though AI can be switched off. The free Team plan caps shared snippets, quicklinks and commands.
